New Orleans native Stanton Moore is a dedicated Drummer, performer and educator especially connected to the city and its culture and collaborative spirit. For the past 20 years Moore has dedicated himself to touring the world and bringing the culture and message of his hometown to the world.

In the early 90’s Moore helped found the New Orleans based quintessential funk band Galactic. Their first album 1996’s widely acclaimed Coolin’ Off led to a constant touring schedule that has averaged over 100 dates a year for the past 20 years. With a total of 10 records and a multitude of collaborations under their collective belts, Galactic remain as busy as ever with their touring and recording schedule. All Star collaborations either live or in the studio include Mavis Staples, Irma Thomas, Allen Toussaint, Big Freedia, Macy Gray, Bo Dollis Jr. and Monk Boudreaux of the Wild Magnolia Indians, Chali 2na and Lyrics Born.

In addition to his work with Galactic Moore has had a productive solo career as well. Starting in 1998 more has put out seven records. With you in mind will be his eighth release under his own name.

With this record, Moore sets out to pay tribute to one of the all-time New Orleans musical greats, Allen Toussaint. The All-Star Cast includes Cyril Neville, Trombone Shorty, Donald Harrison Jr., Nicholas Payton, Skerik, Eric Bloom, Erica Falls, Mark Mullins, Kiki Phillips, Aaron Fletcher and Mike Dillon. While paying homage to the work of Allen Toussaint, this conglomeration his put it’s own slant on some of Toussaint's most beloved compositions.

Moore has written two books accompanied with DVDs. The first being Take it to the Street (his approach to New Orleans drumming) and Groove Alchemy his approach to Funk drumming. Both projects were voted book of the year in the Modern Drummer readers’ poll
His latest and educational endeavor is, an online drummer’s community that features a large growing library of video lessons as well as an interactive forum where members can direct questions to Stanton, post videos of themselves for review and inspire and learn from each other.
